Positive developments seen on two Missouri legislative issues; monitoring advised
The Missouri Catholic Conference is reporting positive developments in two matters in the state legislature, though it is encouraging continued monitoring.
The chair of the Missouri House Budget Committee, State Rep. Allen Icet, R-Wildwood, has proposed retaining full funding -- $1.9 million -- for the Alternatives to Abortion (ATA) program. Several weeks ago a subcommittee of the Budget Committee had recommended eliminating the funding.
