Pope calls for an end to violence in Nigeria
VATICAN CITY -- Violence does not resolve problems, but only multiplies the tragic consequences of tensions between different groups, Pope Benedict XVI said as he appealed for an end to violence in Nigeria.
Cultural, economic and tribal differences are feeding the bloody conflict between Nigerian farmers and herders that has left hundreds of people dead, Nigerian Archbishop John Olorunfemi Onaiyekan of Abuja told Vatican Radio March 8.
