Catholic Charities sees increased demand; giving is steady

At least once a day at the Jefferson County Outreach Center of Catholic Charities, Loretta Kelly now sees people who used to be donors.

"Now they're at the other end, having to ask for help," Kelly said.

The center in Crystal City has helped many families who have faced losing their homes because one or more of the adults in the household lost a job. "Every one of the families had kids," Kelly noted.
