A memorial Mass will be celebrated for Sister Mary Carla Koestner at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, in the School Sisters of Notre Dame Motherhouse Chapel, 320 E. Ripa Ave. in South St. Louis County.
Sister Mary Carla, a School Sister of Notre Dame for 73 years, died Jan. 14 at Anna House-The Sarah Community in Bridgeton from complications from pneumonia. She was 99.
An educator for 43 years, Sister Mary Carla participated in The Nun Study on Alzheimer's disease and aging through the University of Kentucky and the University of Minnesota.
