Send to friendA funeral Mass was celebrated Jan. 23 in St. Mary-of-the-Woods, Ind., for Sister Mary Magdalen Schwartz. A former administrator at John F. Kennedy High School in Manchester, Sister Mary Magdalen died on Jan. 16 at Mother Theodore Hall in St. Mary-of-the-Woods, Ind.. She was 87.
Born Armella Ann Schwartz in Chicago, Sister Mary Magdalen entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Providence in 1941. She earned her bachelor's degree in mathematics at St. Mary-of-the-Woods College and a master's degree in physical science at the University of Notre Dame.
