School Sister of Notre Dame calls vocation a 'gift' from God

"My 47 years as an SSND have been a gift," said Sister Karl Mary Winkelmann, summing up her vocation as a School Sister of Notre Dame, a vowed religious dedicated to Catholic education.

Sister Karl Mary, 67, is the president of Trinity Catholic High School in North St. Louis County, an area she has served for more than 30 years. She said the roots of her vocation began in her childhood.
