This Thanksgiving, Dorothy Crinnion of Assumption Parish in Mattese said she's simply feeling grateful for her own health.

Some of that has to do with the struggles she's witnessed through her son, Dan, who was diagnosed four years ago with brain cancer.

"He's doing OK," said Crinnion, who last week attended the weekday Mass at St. Anthony's Medical Center in South County. "It's been nine months since he's been able to go without chemo. Right now, he's doing great ..."

" ... For the condition he's in," added her husband, Mark.
