Manchester parish sets Special Needs Mass

St. Joseph Parish in Manchester is reaching out to include Catholics with special needs in the faith community.

The parish will sponsor its second annual Special Needs Mass at 11 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 8.

“Everyone is touched by someone with special needs,” explained parishioner Colleen Dolnick, one of the organizers of the Mass and of the parish’s Special Needs Ministry.

Father Thomas Santen, St. Joseph pastor, added: “It’s not just for the parish. Everyone who has special needs or everyone with a loved one with special needs is invited to come.”

Dolnick said, “Everyone from ushers to readers to servers at this Mass have special needs. It’s really quite lovely and not something you usually see.”

Father Santen’s brother may be participating.
