Dozens of people between the ages of 59 and 92 in St. Louis County improved their balance and flexibility by participating in the “Stay Strong, Stay Healthy Program” offered in partnership with Bridgeton Community Center, Shrewsbury Senior Center and the Shepherd’s Center of Webster/Kirkwood.

The program is for middle-aged and older adults who want to improve their quality of life and stay active. The exercises are safe, effective and easy to learn. A pre-assessment is followed by eight weekly exercise sessions, then a post-assessment. Participants who complete the beginner program can enroll in an advanced “Stay Strong, Stay Healthy Program.” The goal of the advanced program is to build on the fitness base by adding new and more complex exercises.
