The feast of Corpus Christi will be celebrated on Sunday, June 14, with processions at several parishes in the archdiocese as well as at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis.

The Eucharist is carried through the streets to honor the sacrament and witness to the belief that it is both “the source and summit of Christian life” and an opportunity to renew our holy Catholic faith in the Body and Blood of Christ present in the Eucharist.

A procession around the block will follow Mass at 5 p.m. June 14 at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis, Lindell Boulevard and Newstead Avenue.

The procession will begin on the front plaza of the cathedral basilica, move west along Lindell Boulevard, north on Taylor Avenue, east on Maryland Avenue and south on Newstead Avenue before returning to the cathedral basilica.

Along the route, Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament will be celebrated at three outdoor altars. The first will be at the archbishop’s residence, on the southwest corner of Lindell Boulevard and Taylor Avenue. The second will be at the cathedral convent, 4440 Maryland Ave., adjacent to Cathedral School. The third will be on the grounds of Cathedral Tower, 325 N. Newstead Ave., one block north of the cathedral basilica.
