Being a part of the installation of a new archbishop is a privilege, said Mother Mary Salvador, superior of the Passionist Nuns monastery in Ellisville.

The altar bread department at the monastery made the hosts for the June 10 installation Mass. The order was for 9,000 hosts, twice the regular order of 4,500 every two weeks for the cathedral basilica.

“As cloistered nuns we won’t be present there, but we will be present in spirit and prayer. We feel very much a part of the archdiocese,” Mother Mary said.

The monastery has about 75 regular customers, including many parishes and hospitals in St. Louis as well as in Louisiana, Texas, Illinois, Florida and Kansas.
