“Emerson and Landon are buddies but don’t know it yet,” said Lindsey Gibson, mother of 8-month-old Landon.
Landon arrived in the new Dana Brown Neonatal Intensive Care Unit two weeks before Emerson Vincelette. Their stays at SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center stretched into months. Over dinners at the nearby Ronald McDonald House, their parents realized their homes were a couple of hours’ drive from St. Louis but only a few miles apart in southern Illinois.
