Msgr. Clarence Good; retired parish pastor, chaplain
A funeral Mass was celebrated May 26 for Msgr. Clarence Good, a retired parish pastor living at the Regina Cleri residence in Shrewsbury.
Msgr. Good, 87, died May 21.
A St. Louis native, he attended St. Louis Preparatory Seminary and Kenrick Seminary in Shrewsbury and was ordained at Kenrick by Cardinal Joseph E. Ritter on Dec. 21, 1946.
He then was assigned to Holy Family Parish in South St. Louis. Two years later he was named as assistant pastor at St. Agatha Parish in South St. Louis. From 1947 to 1951 he taught at St. Mary’s High School, also in South St. Louis. He was named assistant pastor of Sts. John and James Parish in Ferguson in 1954 and Immaculate Conception Parish in Union in 1959.
