Immaculate Conception parishioner releases second CD
Catholic musician Tom Dorff feels like his newest CD reflects a maturity in his music.
Dorff, a member of Immaculate Conception Parish in Dardenne Prairie, has recently released “Open Up Your Door,” a CD of original Christian music. A CD release concert will be held next month.
In a recent interview with the Review, Dorff described his style of music as contemporary Christian with “a little bit of country flair to it.” While numerous Christian artists focus on praise and worship music, he said, his music is more than that.
One of his favorite songs from the new CD is “Love One Another,” which he said “speaks to broadening our brotherhood, our sisterhood. It talks about the greatest of the commandments and how we can do better at being a Christian community.”
Another track, “Forever In You,” is about the ups and downs of faith that individuals so often go through.
An accomplished guitarist and former band member, Dorff first became inspired to make a recording after attending a Christ Renews His Parish (CRHP) retreat several years ago at Immaculate Conception.
