Mass of installation set for June 10 at cathedral

Prayer service to be held June 9; pallium trip also planned next month

The installation of Archbishop-elect Robert J. Carlson has been set for next month.

Cardinal Justin Rigali, archbishop of Philadelphia and former St. Louis archbishop, will install the archbishop-elect as the 10th bishop and ninth archbishop of St. Louis at a Mass Wednesday, June 10, at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis, Lindell Boulevard and Newstead Avenue in the Central West End.
A procession of cardinals, bishops and clergy from around the United States will begin at 1:30 p.m., followed by the Mass at 2.

In addition, an evening prayer service is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, at the cathedral basilica.

Civic and religious leaders and representatives from the Archdiocese of St. Louis will be presented to Archbishop-elect Carlson during the service.
