On his first official day in St. Louis, Archbishop-elect Robert J. Carlson embarked on a whirlwind tour of the archdiocese.

The day began shortly after 8 a.m. when he arrived at the archdiocesan Catholic Center in the Central West End, accompanied by an entourage of archdiocesan officials. He  immediately was escorted inside, where he met with chancery staff.

After an interview with the Review, he headed toward the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis, where 134 students from the Cathedral School lined the walkway, waiting to greet him. The bells of the cathedral basilica pealed against the bright, crisp morning sun, marking the archbishop-elect’s arrival.
