Cardinal Ritter day programs provide respite, stimulation
Cardinal Ritter Senior Services now has two adult day programs, with the newest one in St. Charles.
The St. Robert Adult Day Program in St. Charles is a licensed adult day program with a capacity to provide care for a maximum of 40 people a day.
The Cardinal Ritter Senior Services Adult Day Program on the Cardinal Carberry campus in Shrewsbury also is a state licensed facility with a capacity of 40 people per day. It is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Both programs allow caregivers to benefit by having their loved ones cared for by skilled professionals. Caregivers can take care of personal business, continue employment or get needed rest.
Participants using an adult day program typically reside with a family member and have a diagnosis that makes it unsafe for them to be left alone. The clients either do not need the 24-hour care supplied by a skilled nursing facility or just want to remain home as long as possible.
