‘Dear Father’- Transubstantiation
Q. At precisely what time does the transubstantiation of the bread and wine occur at Mass? Also, when many priests concelebrate the Mass, do they all confect the Eucharist, or just the main celebrant?
A. The subject of your first question has raised a surprising amount of controversy since the Vatican Council. I say surprising because I would have thought it was fairly obvious when the change occurs and was pretty much a matter that had been completely and satisfactorily resolved.
