Reviewed by Father John Carl Lombardi, MSF "Mercy Minutes," a daily devotional dedicated to St. Maria Faustina Kowalska and her message of mercy, is perfect for people looking for a fruitful daily meditation book in their busy schedules that is short and to the point. Father George Kosicki, CSB, who compiled these meditations, lives in solitude in upper Michigan with the Community of Companions of Christ the Lamb. He gleaned these daily gems directly from St. Faustina’s "Diary," which will enrich one’s day with themes from trust, mercy, God’s will and union with God. This little book is also a good introduction for those not familiar with St. Faustina’s "Diary." It helps explain the importance of the message of Divine Mercy in our lives. This meditation book also has a thematic index with listings from the Blessed Sacrament to union with God. And there is also at the back of the book four blank pages to list your favorite gems. "Mercy Minutes" would make a great Christmas gift for friends and relatives looking for a prayer and reflection book that is truly a treasure chest of graces that takes only a few minutes to read each day. Father Lombardi, a priest of the Missionaries of the Holy Family, is associate pastor of St. Wenceslaus Parish in South St. Louis.
